Fight leads to shooting at Westgate Entertainment District, unrelated to Final Four activities

In an unfortunate turn of events, a fight escalated into a shooting at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale, Arizona, on Saturday night. The incident occurred just hours after the Final Four festivities, but authorities have clarified that the crime was unrelated to the event.
Around 10 p.m., Glendale police received reports of a shooting in the vicinity of 95th and Glendale avenues on the north side of Westgate. Quick to respond, officers who were already assigned to Westgate arrived at the scene promptly and discovered two injured men. It was determined that one of the men had suffered a gunshot wound, while the other had sustained a facial injury from an assault.
Thankfully, the victim with the gunshot wound had non-life-threatening injuries. Both individuals were promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. Meanwhile, the suspect or suspects responsible for the incident managed to flee and have not yet been apprehended by the authorities.
Authorities have emphasized that this crime was completely unrelated to the Final Four activities and none of those involved were attending the event. Glendale police are actively investigating the incident and working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspect(s).
