**Federal Judge Dismisses Defamation Lawsuit Against Fox News by Ex-Trump Supporter**

In Croton, New York, a significant legal decision was made on Wednesday when a federal judge dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed against Fox News. The lawsuit, initiated by Raymond Epps, a former supporter of Donald Trump, alleged that he received death threats after the network broadcasted unfounded conspiracy theories suggesting his involvement in the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.

Epps, a former Marine, was at the center of false accusations by Fox News, which alleged that he acted as a government agent inciting trouble near the Capitol. These actions aimed to shift the blame onto Trump supporters. The case was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Hall in Delaware without any detailed commentary on her decision.

Prominent in the defamation claims was Tucker Carlson, who previously hosted Fox's most-watched show. Carlson, who was unexpectedly terminated from the network in April 2023, was identified as a primary promoter of the conspiracy theory targeting Epps.

Fox News expressed contentment with the court's decision. In a statement made on Wednesday, the network referenced this outcome alongside the recent dismissals of two other defamation cases. These cases were filed by Nina Jankowicz, a former disinformation expert for the Biden administration, and Tony Bobulinski, a former business associate of Hunter Biden.

"Following the dismissals of the Jankowicz, Bobulinski and now Epps cases, Fox News is pleased with these back-to-back decisions from federal courts preserving the press freedoms of the First Amendment," the network stated.
