**Bomb Threats Target Trump Cabinet Nominees: FBI Investigates**

The FBI has reported that various cabinet nominees and appointees of Donald Trump's incoming administration have been subject to bomb threats and swatting incidents. Swatting is a dangerous prank that involves making false emergency calls to draw a large police response to the victim's location.

Among those targeted is New York Republican Elise Stefanik, who has been nominated by Trump to serve as the US ambassador to the United Nations. According to her office, Stefanik received a bomb threat while she was traveling with her family from Washington to New York for Thanksgiving. The FBI and local police are actively investigating these threats.

Karoline Leavitt, a spokesperson for Trump’s transition team, confirmed that several individuals had been targeted but did not provide specific names. She assured that law enforcement had acted swiftly to secure their safety.

In more specific instances, the New York police disclosed to CBS, a US partner of the BBC, that Howard Lutnick, Trump's choice for commerce secretary, was also a target of similar threats. Another nominee, Lee Zeldin, tapped to be the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, revealed that a pipe bomb accompanied by a "pro-Palestinian themed message" had been sent to his home. Thankfully, Zeldin and his family were not at home at the time and are safe.

Additionally, media outlets have reported that Florida Republican Matt Gaetz, who recently withdrew from consideration for the position of US attorney general, was also among those targeted.

Investigations into these incidents are ongoing, as the FBI and other law enforcement agencies work to ensure the safety of all those involved.
