**Companies Sever Ties with Conor McGregor Following Court Ruling**

In the wake of a recent court ruling in Ireland, two prominent companies have distanced themselves from Conor McGregor. Last week, a civil court jury determined that McGregor must pay nearly 250,000 Euros ($257,000) to a woman who accused him of rape. This verdict has led to significant repercussions for the mixed martial arts fighter.

Proximo Spirits, which owns the Irish whiskey brand Proper No. 12, has decided to remove McGregor's name and image from its marketing materials. The company expressed their decision to the Irish Independent newspaper, stating, "Going forward, we do not plan to use Mr. McGregor's name and likeness in the marketing of the brand."

Similarly, video game developer IO Interactive has ended its collaboration with McGregor. He had been featured as a character in their game "Hitman." In a statement on X, the company explained, "In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today."

These decisions follow the ruling in a civil case involving Nikita Hand, who accused McGregor of "brutally raping and battering" her in a Dublin hotel penthouse in 2018. Hand reported that the assault left her with severe bruises and post-traumatic stress disorder. McGregor, however, testified that their interaction was consensual and that Hand fabricated the allegations. After six hours of deliberation, the jury comprised of eight women and four men found McGregor liable for assault.

The fallout from this ruling has evidently prompted companies associated with McGregor to re-evaluate their partnerships, demonstrating the serious consequences of the court's decision.
