### Explosion and Structural Collapse at Louisville Food Coloring Plant

Emergency services in Louisville are addressing a significant incident at Givaudan Sense Colours, a manufacturer of natural food colorings. The situation was reported as a "hazardous materials incident" by city officials on social media platform X. Officers from the Louisville Metro Police Department have secured the area, blocking off nearby roadways to manage the crisis.

The Louisville Fire Department described the event as a "large scale incident," involving an explosion and structural collapse at the facility. Fire Chief Brian O'Neill noted that the initial response by the plant's workers significantly mitigated potential casualties, enabling the evacuation of most individuals. Firefighters managed to rescue one person trapped inside and assisted several others in evacuating the building.

Injuries were reported, and those affected have been transported to local hospitals. However, no fatalities have been confirmed, and the current health statuses of the injured have not been disclosed. Despite the severe structural damage, O'Neill confirmed that air quality tests revealed no immediate chemical hazards, though monitoring will continue to check for potential risks from structural leaks.

A significant number of police and emergency vehicles were observed on the scene, as shown in footage from NBC affiliate WAVE. The video revealed an extensive emergency response presence in what appeared to be a residential area, with firefighters and equipment positioned around two blocks from the initial cordon.

Further statements from Givaudan Sense Colours have not been made available, and NBC News has yet to receive a response to their inquiry.
