### Elon Musk Criticizes SNL Skit Mocking His Connection to Donald Trump
Billionaire Elon Musk expressed dissatisfaction with a recent Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit that took aim at his close ties to former President Donald Trump. The episode, which aired on November 9th, marked the show's return after Trump's victory in the US presidential election. SNL commenced with cast members humorously showering praise on Trump, attempting to avoid being added to his so-called "enemies list."
The skit continued with former SNL regular Dana Carvey, who has frequently portrayed outgoing President Joe Biden, stepping into the shoes of Musk. Dressed in Musk's trademark black attire, Carvey appeared on stage as fellow cast member Kenan Thompson quipped about the potential salvation Musk's space ventures could offer. "If our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man we love and trust: Elon Musk," Thompson said.
Carvey's outfit featured a black baseball cap reminiscent of Musk's recent appearances, and he embraced the character with exaggerated dance moves and an enthusiastic "USA" chant. This portrayal drew inspiration from Musk's viral chant at a Trump rally in New York last month. "Check it out: dark MAGA. Yeah! But seriously, I run the country now," Carvey declared during his impression. "America's going to be like one of my rockets. They're super cool and super fun, but there's a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies. Ha ha!"
However, Musk was not amused by the parody. He took to his social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter), to denounce the skit. "They are so mad that Donald Trump won," Musk wrote, accompanied by several cry-laughing emojis. He further criticized SNL, claiming the show has been "dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality," adding, "Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey."
While some celebrities aligned themselves with Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign—Harris herself appeared on SNL the previous week—Musk was one of Trump's significant supporters. Official figures between July and September revealed that Musk had donated up to $75 million to America Pac, the political action committee he founded to support Trump's campaign.
