**X Corp. and The Onion Enter Alex Jones Bankruptcy Case Amid Infowars Turmoil**

In a surprising twist, X Corp., the company formed by Elon Musk to acquire Twitter, has officially entered the fray in the ongoing bankruptcy proceedings of Alex Jones and his Infowars platform. Attorneys representing X Corp. filed a notice of appearance on Thursday, signaling their involvement in the high-profile case. The satirical news outlet The Onion, which has recently come under new ownership, emerged as a successful bidder for Jones' controversial platform, joining forces with families affected by the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Despite their listed participation, attorneys for X Corp. and a legal representative for The Onion have not provided any comments regarding their latest moves in the case. Both Elon Musk and Alex Jones have maintained public alliances with President-elect Donald Trump, a connection further complicated by Musk's decision to allow Infowars to continue broadcasting on X while the platform's future remains uncertain.

Alex Jones' financial troubles stem from a staggering $1.5 billion in damages he owes to the families of the Sandy Hook massacre victims. These families filed defamation lawsuits after Jones spread false claims that the tragic shooting was merely a hoax, leading to prolonged harassment and threats against them through his Infowars platform.

Ben Collins, the chief executive of The Onion and a noted commentator on disinformation and conspiracy theories, refuted recent claims by Jones and Infowars personnel. Jones had asserted that the auction results had been "overturned," a notion Collins firmly labeled as false. He also dismissed other allegations from the Infowars team as "wacky."

A representative for Infowars has yet to respond to requests for comment. This unfolding drama adds another layer of complexity to the already intense legal battles surrounding Alex Jones and his once-dominant conspiracy platform.
