### Elon Musk Pledges $1 Million Daily Giveaway to Boost Voter Registration in Swing States

Elon Musk, renowned tech magnate and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has announced a unique initiative aimed at boosting voter registration in critical swing states. Musk revealed that he will be awarding $1 million each day until Election Day to registered voters who sign a petition supporting his pro-Trump political action committee, America PAC. The announcement was made during an America PAC event in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where Musk actively urged voter registration in favor of the Republican nominee.

Addressing the crowd, Musk stated, "I have a surprise for you," explaining that the daily prize money would be available from now until Election Day. As a kickoff, Musk called John Dreher, one of the petition signatories present at the event, to the stage and handed him a giant check. "I think this is kind of fun, and it seems like a good use of money basically," Musk added, highlighting his enthusiasm for the initiative.

Musk, who has a net worth approaching $250 billion, emphasized the significance of Pennsylvania in the upcoming election, describing it as the "linchpin." He indicated his belief that the election's outcome could hinge on how Pennsylvania votes. The petition, available on the America PAC website, stipulates that to be eligible for the monetary awards, participants must be registered voters in key states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin.

However, not everyone is on board with Musk's plan. Rick Hasen, a UCLA law professor and NBC news election law analyst, cautioned that the initiative might violate federal election laws. These laws prohibit offering or accepting payments in exchange for voter registration or voting itself, with potential penalties of up to $10,000 in fines, five years of imprisonment, or both.

Pennsylvania Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro also voiced his concerns, describing Musk's actions as "deeply concerning" in an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press." Shapiro suggested that law enforcement might need to scrutinize the legality of Musk’s promise to give money to registered voters in his state.

Musk's broader speaking tour in Pennsylvania has featured him discussing a variety of topics, including debunked voter fraud conspiracies and criticism of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He has called for deregulation, citing many government agencies and regulations as ineffective and unnecessary. Despite his companies' reliance on government contracts and support, he has been critical of entities like the Federal Communications Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency for what he perceives as stifling innovation at SpaceX.

The initiative and Musk's outspoken views have generated significant attention and controversy as the election approaches, drawing both supporters and critics into the discussion of his unconventional approach to political engagement.
