In a notable display of camaraderie, Tesla CEO Elon Musk joined President-elect Donald Trump and his family for Thanksgiving dinner at Mar-a-Lago. The gathering, also attended by Melania Trump and their 18-year-old son Barron, highlights the growing bond between Trump and Musk. A video posted by Michael Solakiewicz captured Musk seated next to Trump, enjoying the classic campaign rally anthem "Y-M-C-A." Trump jovially tapped Musk on the shoulder, earning an enthusiastic response from Musk, who raised both fists in celebration. Wearing a black blazer and a t-shirt branded with an "X," Musk, the owner of the social media platform X, appeared to be in high spirits.

The festive dinner was attended by guests who couldn't resist capturing the moment. Yaakov Safar, a French jewelry designer invited to the event, described the gathering as having "an absolutely extraordinary atmosphere." According to Safar, Trump and Musk made rounds throughout the room, engaging with each guest individually, and spending considerable time in discussions with Barron. "He was interested in each one," Safar told CNN, calling the overall joy in the room "enormous."

Musk shared another video on his social media platform, featuring a chat with Trump ally Sylvester Stallone while Trump greeted guests nearby. Musk reminisced about watching Stallone's film "Demolition Man," noting how accurately it predicted the "crazy woke future" of today.

In a significant move, Musk has been chosen to lead the newly established "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) under the incoming Trump administration, sharing the responsibility with former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. Musk's appointment has sparked questions about potential conflicts of interest due to his leadership of companies with existing lucrative government contracts.

During Trump’s Florida club presidential transition, Musk has been a frequent visitor to Mar-a-Lago. Trump himself joked about Musk's apparent fondness for the club at the America First Policy Institute Gala. "He likes this place. I can't get him out of here," Trump quipped, acknowledging Musk's frequent presence. One significant moment was when Musk was present during a congratulatory call from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following Trump’s election victory. According to a source, Zelensky thanked Musk for his assistance in providing communications through his Starlink internet service.

Musk isn't the only social media magnate cozying up to Trump; Meta chief Mark Zuckerberg also visited Mar-a-Lago earlier this week. However, Musk appears to have cemented a closer bond, even achieving "uncle status" in a Trump family photo shared by Trump's granddaughter Kai on social media.

Trump has reciprocated the attention, most recently attending a SpaceX Starship rocket test launch in Texas, further solidifying the relationship between the influential figures.
