Musk, during his visit to Capitol Hill, called the report "fiction" and declared that he never made such a statement.

The Wall Street Journal article, dated July 16, asserted that Musk had openly declared his intention to donate the significant monthly sum to the America PAC in support of President Trump. Despite Musk's earlier denials, The Journal has maintained its stance, standing by the accuracy of its story.

It is important to note the distinction between donating to a super PAC like America PAC, which can collect unlimited contributions, and directly to the Trump campaign, which is subject to legal limits. Musk emphasized that the America PAC is not intended to be a hyperpartisan political action committee.

Records from the Federal Election Commission reveal that the America PAC has indeed spent millions of dollars backing Trump and opposing Joe Biden during his time in the race. Notably, several prominent tech entrepreneurs, including Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, have contributed to the PAC.

Musk's denial comes in the wake of an interview with psychologist and author Jordan Peterson, where he firmly stated, "I am not donating $45 million a month to Trump." The interview further highlighted Musk's emphasis on the non-partisan nature of the America PAC.

It is worth mentioning that Musk publicly endorsed Trump on July 13, following an assassination attempt on his life. Interestingly, President Trump recently touted Musk's supposed $45 million monthly donations, seemingly relying on The Wall Street Journal's account.

As the debate rages on, Elon Musk continues to firmly deny The Wall Street Journal's report, asserting that the claims of substantial monthly contributions are entirely untrue. With conflicting accounts and staunch denials, the truth surrounding Elon Musk's alleged donations to the Trump campaign remains shrouded in controversy.
