### Nine Semifinalists for Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Selection Named

Super Bowl-winning coaches Tom Coughlin, Mike Holmgren, Mike Shanahan, and George Seifert are among the distinguished nine semifinalists from the coach category nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. These elite coaches have been recognized by the Coach Blue-Ribbon Committee, which whittled down the list from 14 candidates. Only one of them will advance to the final round for potential election in 2025.

The semifinalists include Bill Arnsparger, Coughlin, Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, Seifert, Shanahan, and Clark Shaughnessy. It's worth noting that all but Arnsparger, Knox, and Seifert also made it to the semifinalist stage last year.

On November 19, the committee will convene virtually to nominate one finalist who will be considered for enshrinement. This process adds to the anticipation and excitement as the Pro Football Hall of Fame prepares to solidify its next class of inductees.

In related news, the Hall of Fame has also released the list of semifinalists from the contributor category. These include K.S. "Bud" Adams, Ralph Hay, Frank "Bucko" Kilroy, Robert Kraft, Art Modell, Art Rooney Jr., Seymour Siwoff, Doug Williams, and John Wooten. Similar to the coaches, only one of these nominees will advance to the final selection stage.

Overall, a total of 20 finalists will be presented for debate at the selection committee's annual meeting ahead of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans. This group consists of 15 modern-era players, three seniors, one coach, and one contributor. According to the Hall of Fame's selection process bylaws, between four and eight new members will be chosen for enshrinement.
