As the NBA Draft approaches, two prominent players from Duke University's basketball team, Paolo Filipowski and Caleb McCain, are drawing significant attention thanks to their impressive performances on the court. Filipowski, a 7-footer with a knack for stretching the floor, led the Blue Devils with an average of 16 points per game while shooting an impressive 56% from inside the arc. McCain, known for his exceptional three-point shooting, averaged 14 points and five rebounds during his freshman year.

According to recent mock drafts and projections, Filipowski and McCain are expected to be selected in the first round. Speculations place Filipowski as the potential fourteenth pick, likely to join the Sacramento Kings. His ability to score consistently and contribute to rebounding endeavors has made him an invaluable asset for the Blue Devils.

Despite suffering a potentially serious knee injury during a tumultuous court-storming incident at Wake Forest, Filipowski displayed tremendous resilience, returning just four days later to play 29 minutes in a victory against Louisville. This determination undoubtedly impressed scouts, further cementing his potential value at the professional level.

On the other hand, McCain is projected to be the twenty-second pick in the NBA Draft. His prowess as a three-point shooter, shooting over 41% from behind the arc on a high volume of attempts, has caught the attention of scouts and analysts alike. McCain emerged as Duke's go-to scorer in crucial games, showcasing his skills with impressive performances against James Madison and NC State.

During the second-round game against James Madison, McCain confidently sank eight of his eleven three-point attempts, tallying an impressive 30 points. Although Duke suffered defeat in the Elite Eight game against NC State, McCain continued to shine, scoring an impressive 32 points.

Now, as the NBA Draft beckons, Duke University is well-prepared to fill the void left by the departure of Filipowski and McCain. With the number one recruiting class in the country for 2024, the Blue Devils have secured the commitment of four five-star freshmen, including high school player of the year, Cooper Flagg, along with Khaman Maluach, Isaiah Evans, and Kon Knueppel. These highly-touted recruits are expected to make an immediate impact, stepping up to fill the shoes of the departing players.

As Filipowski and McCain gear up for their basketball careers at the highest level, all eyes will be on them during the NBA Draft. Duke University can be proud of their contributions and remains optimistic, knowing they have fresh talent ready to make their mark on the court in the upcoming season.
