In a recent interview with CNN, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the former White House chief medical adviser, provided reassurance regarding the health and injuries of former President Donald Trump following an attempted assassination over the weekend.
Addressing concerns, Dr. Fauci expressed his view that there wasn't much more to worry about in relation to Trump's health. He stated, "So I think that with regard to the health related, purely to the bullet itself, I think he's in the clear, as far as I can see."
The incident occurred during Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania when a 20-year-old gunman targeted the former president. Trump, in a post on the social media platform Truth, disclosed that a bullet had struck and injured the upper part of his right ear. Days later at the Republican National Convention, Trump was seen wearing a large white bandage on his ear.
Although Dr. Fauci maintained caution in making medical assessments from a distance, he saw no reason to believe that there was any further damage. He stated, "From what I'm seeing, the way he's acting now, and what his physicians' reports are, it seems to have been a superficial wound to the ear. And that's all."
Overall, Dr. Fauci's statements have helped allay concerns about the severity of Trump's injuries. However, further details regarding the incident and any ongoing medical treatment were not mentioned in the interview.
