### Trump Wins Another Term: Can He Run Again in 2028?

In a stunning outcome, Donald Trump has secured another term as the President of the United States by winning the electoral college with 277 votes, surpassing his rival, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who garnered 224 votes. This victory was celebrated early Wednesday morning in Florida, where Trump heralded it as "a magnificent victory for the American people."

To clinch the presidency, a candidate must achieve at least 270 electoral votes, a requirement met by Trump this election cycle. The electoral college comprises 538 electors, with each state's number of electors equaling its total Congressional delegation—one for each House Representative and two Senators.

This win marks Trump’s return to the White House after his first term as the 45th president of the United States, which he won in 2016 with 304 electoral votes against Hillary Clinton. However, he was defeated in the 2020 election by Joe Biden, who secured 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232.

Trump is set to begin his second term on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2025. This has prompted questions about whether he can run again in 2028. According to the 22nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, a president is prohibited from serving more than two terms. Ratified on February 27, 1951, this amendment was introduced following Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four-term presidency, which broke the previously respected tradition of a two-term limit set by George Washington.

Ultimately, as Trump prepares for his second term, the constitutional limitations mean he will not be eligible to run for a third term in 2028.
