In a series of posts on his Truth Social platform, former President Donald Trump vehemently denied allegations that he froze up during a speech over the weekend, asserting instead that the pauses were intentional and dismissed them as mere misinterpretations by his political opponents.

Addressing the National Rifle Association (NRA) convention on Saturday, Trump's lengthy mid-speech pause raised eyebrows and prompted speculation about his ability to deliver coherent remarks. However, the GOP's presumptive presidential nominee dismissed the notion that he had faltered, blaming President Joe Biden's campaign for spreading "fake news" about his momentary silence.

According to Trump, the period of silence, lasting approximately 30 to 60 seconds, was a "standard" component of his speeches, often accompanied by background music. He accused the Biden campaign of distorting the narrative, referring to it as "disinformation" aimed at diverting attention from Biden's alleged stumbles and gaffes.

Footage of Trump's speech, which showed him remaining silent while music played, was shared by the Biden-Harris campaign. While the post criticized Trump for playing "QAnon music during his bizarre slur-filled NRA speech," it did not explicitly mention him freezing. However, other accounts, including one called "Biden's Wins," claimed that Trump had "glitched out and froze" at the rally, declaring him "unfit for office" and "senile."

Trump took the opportunity to strike back at his critics, accusing Biden of freezing frequently, struggling to string sentences together, and needing assistance to exit the stage. He dismissed the alleged freezing incident as a fabrication propagated by a "dying newspaper" and claimed that every reporter present at the event knew the truth.

Not content with dismissing the allegations of freezing up, Trump also addressed another incident that occurred during a rally in Minnesota, where he was seen appearing to stumble and lean on an unsteady podium. The Biden-Harris campaign shared a clip of this moment, accompanied by a caption suggesting Trump nearly fell and went on an angry rant blaming the event workers.

However, Trump countered this narrative, asserting that he prevented the podium from falling due to his quick reflexes and strength, while simultaneously taking a swipe at Biden's supposed lack of these attributes. He characterized Biden as "completely incompetent and corrupt" and criticized him for spreading what he deemed to be a fake story.

As the political campaign intensifies, it is evident that both sides are employing various tactics to shape public perception. Trump's vigorous defense against the freezing allegations and the podium incident showcases his determination to counter the narrative created by his opponents.
