### Diddy's Mother Defends Him Amid Mounting Legal Battles Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations

The mother of rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs has come forward in defense of her son amidst a surge of civil lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct. In a detailed Instagram statement, she described the allegations and ongoing discourse against Combs as a "public lynching." Combs, who faces numerous lawsuits and an impending federal trial following last month's indictment, has consistently denied the allegations. His legal team has characterized the accusations as "baseless," "sickening," and mere "money grabs."

Netflix has secured rights to a new docuseries about the sexual abuse and trafficking accusations against Combs, produced by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's G-Unit Film & Television. Jackson confirmed the acquisition via Twitter, noting that the proceeds from the series would benefit victims of sexual assault. The producer also hinted at the possibility of additional episodes if more victims come forward.

Combs publicly apologized on Instagram in May for his "disgusting" behavior caught on surveillance video from 2016, where he was seen assaulting Cassie. This video bolstered the claims made in Cassie's November lawsuit, although Combs’ attorney initially dismissed the lawsuit as "offensive and outrageous." Despite the video, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office declined to file charges, citing the expiration of the statute of limitation. Meredith Firetog, one of Cassie's lawyers, criticized the apology, claiming it was insincere and self-centered.

In 2017, Combs' former personal chef Cindy Rueda settled a sexual harassment lawsuit against him. She alleged that she was made to serve food to Combs and his guests during or immediately after sexual activities.

The allegations against Combs stretch back to the 1990s, during the inception of his record label, Bad Boy Records. Known as one of the most influential hip-hop labels by Rolling Stone, Bad Boy Records signed artists like The Notorious B.I.G., Janelle Monáe, and Cassie, and released multiple albums by Combs himself. In 2005, Combs sold a 50% stake in Bad Boy to Warner Music Group for a reported $30 million.

Beyond music, Combs has amassed significant wealth through various ventures including liquor brands and a fashion label. Earlier this year, he sold his stake in the DeLeón tequila brand for $200 million. Ranked No. 14 on Forbes’ list of highest-paid entertainers in 2022, Combs made an estimated $90 million that year. One of his notable properties is a Holmby Hills home, purchased for $40 million a decade ago.
