### Over 120 Killed in Sudanese Village in Latest RSF Attack

At least 124 people were reported dead following an assault by the Sudanese paramilitary group, Rapid Support Forces (RSF), on a village south of Khartoum, according to activists and medical professionals. This attack, potentially one of the deadliest since the civil war began, occurred on Friday in Al-Sareeha village in the Al-Jazirah region.

The RSF has been engaged in a fierce conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) for control over Sudan since April of last year. Both factions have been accused of committing atrocities against civilians during the ongoing strife.

Reports indicate that the violence escalated after the defection of the RSF commander in the Al-Jazirah region. Following this defection, RSF attacks grew in frequency and intensity. A member of the Resistance Committees, speaking to CNN, revealed that more than 200 civilians were injured and an additional 150 were detained by the RSF during the attack on Al-Sareeha village.

The actual number of victims could be even higher due to difficulties in documenting the incidents, as communication channels have been severely restricted. The activist who shared this information requested anonymity for security reasons. "The RSF militia has confiscated all Starlink devices, which were the only means of communication available to civilians," they reported. Over 30 villages in eastern Al-Jazirah have been abandoned as residents flee from continued militia attacks.

The Sudan Doctors Network has corroborated reports of the mass killings, asserting that RSF forces were responsible for targeting civilians in Al-Sareeha, leaving 124 dead, numerous injured, and hundreds displaced in the Friday attacks.

CNN has been unable to independently verify the incident or the casualty figures due to media restrictions in the region. Efforts to obtain comments from the RSF have so far been unresponsive.

The United Nations has described the ongoing conflict between the SAF and RSF as having triggered the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with tens of thousands of deaths and millions displaced. Previous CNN investigations have brought to light a campaign led by the RSF that includes enslavement and other severe human rights violations, particularly in Sudan’s Darfur region.
