They issued a statement condemning Brooks’ actions as punitive and spiteful, arguing that he disclosed her name without any legal necessity, thereby violating her right to anonymity.

Brooks' lawyers defended their decision to name his accuser, citing her own court filings where she indicated a willingness to proceed under her real name if the court deemed it necessary for fairness in the proceedings. The woman had stated her readiness to use her name should it significantly affect the case's progression.

The dispute began last month when a John Doe, later revealed to be Brooks, sued Jane Roe in federal court in Mississippi. The suit alleged that the woman, residing in Mississippi, had sent a demand letter in July accusing him of sexual misconduct and assault, coupled with a threat to sue unless he paid millions in hush money.
