Republican Senator Lindsey Graham has expressed concerns about North Carolina's Republican nominee for governor, Mark Robinson, stating that he may be unfit to serve if recent reports about his comments on pornographic websites are true. Robinson has faced criticism following a CNN report that highlighted disturbing remarks he made on a porn website. Prior to these allegations, Robinson's controversial rhetoric on various topics had already stirred debate during the campaign season.

Despite denying that he wrote the comments in question and dismissing CNN's reporting as false, Robinson has not provided additional evidence to support his claims and has canceled his campaign events since the allegations emerged. His email was also linked to Ashley Madison, a website for individuals seeking extramarital affairs, which his team attributed to a data breach. Former President Donald Trump, who had previously endorsed Robinson, held a rally in North Carolina without Robinson's presence, prompting discussions about the implications for their relationship.

Senator Tom Cotton has echoed concerns about the allegations against Robinson, emphasizing the need for more clarity and transparency from the gubernatorial candidate. Similarly, Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance, emphasized the importance of allowing the allegations to be addressed publicly. While Democratic nominee Josh Stein called for accountability from North Carolina Republicans, Senator Graham emphasized that Robinson should be given the opportunity to defend himself individually, without implicating all Republicans with the controversy.
