Colt McCoy, Former NFL Quarterback, Joins NBC Sports as Big Ten Football Analyst

Stamford, Conn. - August 19, 2024 - NBC Sports has announced that Colt McCoy, a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and former 14-year NFL quarterback, will be joining their team as an analyst for Big Ten Football coverage. McCoy will serve as a game analyst for the network and will also appear on the Big Ten College Countdown studio show.

McCoy's debut as an analyst is set to take place on September 7th as the head coach Deion Sanders, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and the Colorado Buffaloes visit head coach Matt Rhule, quarterback Dylan Raiola, and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Big Ten Saturday Night. The game will air at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

Sam Flood, the Executive Producer and President of NBC Sports Production, expressed excitement about McCoy joining their team, stating, "In a standout career at Texas, Colt McCoy starred in many of college football's biggest games and fiercest rivalries. What a way to kick it off with Colorado-Nebraska!"

Prior to joining NBC Sports, McCoy had a successful NFL career, most recently playing quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals. In 2023, he served as a commentator for USFL games on NBC Sports.

During his time at the University of Texas, McCoy set numerous records and became the winningest quarterback in NCAA Division I history with 45 wins. As a four-year starter, he was also the sole player in school history to win or share the team's MVP award for four consecutive years from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, he was a Heisman Trophy finalist, a Maxwell Award winner, and led the Longhorns to a perfect 12-0 regular season, a Big 12 championship, and a spot in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game. McCoy was also honored as the Walter Camp Player of the Year in 2008 and 2009, being one of only three players to win the award twice. He was drafted in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

NBC Sports' Big Ten Football package will now include Big Ten Saturday Night on NBC and Peacock, marking the first dedicated weekly primetime game for Big Ten Football on a national broadcast network. Peacock will simulstream all of NBC Sports' college football games and studio shows airing on the NBC broadcast network this season, including the Big Ten Saturday Night games and Notre Dame Football home games.
