In a recent campaign stop in Racine, Wisconsin, former President Donald Trump made wild accusations against President Joe Biden, claiming that Biden has been using drugs like cocaine and even suggesting that Biden left a baggie of the illicit substance at the White House. CNN's Kaitlan Collins quickly fact-checked and dismissed Trump's baseless claims.

During the event, Trump confidently predicted that Biden would be "pumped up" on drugs during their upcoming debate and insinuated that Biden was responsible for the mysteriously missing items from the White House, including the alleged baggie of cocaine. However, the Secret Service had already concluded that they could not determine who was responsible for the missing items.

Collins, clearly exasperated by the persistence of Trump's unfounded allegations, expressed her disbelief at having to fact-check such claims. "I can't even believe I have to fact-check that one, I guess if that's what you're calling it," Collins remarked. She made it clear that there was no evidence to support Trump's accusations and that President Biden was not involved in any drug-related activities.

This is not the first time Trump has made baseless claims about Biden's alleged drug use. He previously suggested that Biden was "higher than a kite" during his State of the Union address in March. In addition to Trump's rhetoric, some Republican allies have also attempted to attack Biden's mental fitness by using deceptive videos.

However, it is worth noting that Trump himself has faced accusations regarding his own cognitive abilities and has been criminally convicted. These accusations highlight the contentious nature of the political landscape, with both sides trying to undermine their opponents.

As the debate between Trump and Biden approaches, Trump has cynically renewed calls for a drug test. However, without any substantial evidence to back up his claims, these accusations seem to be nothing more than baseless attacks.

The responsibility of journalists like Kaitlan Collins is paramount in debunking unfounded claims and ensuring that accurate information is disseminated to the public. Despite the challenges of correcting a former president's remarks, it is crucial to maintain the integrity of factual reporting.

In the face of baseless accusations, it is essential for voters to stay informed and critically evaluate the information presented to them.
