### China-Linked Hackers Target Phones of Trump Family and Biden Officials

A sophisticated hacking initiative, believed to be linked to China, has targeted telecommunications systems used by high-profile figures in both the Trump family and the Biden administration, informed sources reported. The operation, which alarmed U.S. national security agencies, aimed at exploiting communications of interest to the Chinese government.

Among the fewer than 100 individuals reportedly targeted are prominent members of former President Donald J. Trump’s family, such as Eric Trump and Jared Kushner. The list also includes key figures in the Biden administration and the State Department, along with members of Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign team and other important government and policy experts. However, it remains unclear what information, if any, was extracted.

Eric Trump responded by criticizing the Biden administration, stating, "Does this surprise anyone? Under Kamala and Biden, China has walked all over our country." Meanwhile, there has been no comment from Jared Kushner’s camp regarding the incident. Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, asserted that Trump "will actually stand up against our enemies and defend the United States from any and all aggression."

Furthermore, the Trump campaign received notification last week indicating that phones used by Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator JD Vance, were compromised through a breach of Verizon’s phone systems. Similar notifications have been sent to other affected individuals by U.S. authorities, as the investigation into the cyber-attack continues.
