The leader of the Chechen Republic in Russia, Ramzan Kadyrov, recently expressed his disappointment after alleging that Tesla CEO Elon Musk had gifted him a Cybertruck only to remotely disable it. Kadyrov had initially shared his excitement about receiving the Cybertruck from Musk, praising its advanced technology in a post on Telegram. He even went as far as customizing the vehicle by adding a machine gun turret to its bed, highlighting plans to deploy it in the North-East Military District zone for military purposes.
However, Musk quickly dismissed the notion of gifting a Cybertruck to a Russian general, calling the idea "amazing" and using emojis to convey his disbelief. Kadyrov later took to Telegram to accuse Musk of an "ugly" act by remotely disabling the Cybertruck, despite its successful performance in combat missions. The Chechen leader expressed his confusion and disappointment, questioning Musk's actions in a subsequent post on the platform.
In response to the alleged remote shutdown, Kadyrov claimed that two additional Cybertrucks were sent to him, emphasizing their continued functionality by sharing a video of the trucks driving off-road with armed soldiers on board. Kadyrov viewed this as a positive advertisement for the Cybertruck, showcasing its potential utility in specific scenarios. As of now, there has been no direct comment from Musk regarding the remote shutdown incident or the most recent developments shared by Kadyrov.
