In a recently surfaced video, a campaign staffer working for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s independent presidential bid has advocated for a controversial plan to block President Joe Biden from being re-elected. Rita Palma, identified as the campaign's New York state director, suggests sending the election to the House of Representatives, where House members could potentially elect former President Donald Trump instead.

Palma, a vocal critic of vaccine mandates and a supporter of Trump in both the 2016 and 2020 elections, states that her "number one priority" is to deprive Biden of a second term rather than helping Kennedy win. She offers a specific strategy to achieve this by focusing on blue states like New York. By preventing Biden from obtaining electoral votes in these states, she suggests that both Trump and Biden could fall short of the required 270 Electoral College votes, leaving the decision to the currently GOP-controlled House of Representatives, which she believes would choose Trump.

However, Kennedy's campaign quickly distanced itself from Palma's statements, referring to her as a "ballot access consultant" and clarifying that her comments do not reflect the overall campaign strategy. The campaign's statement emphasized that supporters come from various political backgrounds and that the goal is to gain votes from former Trump and Biden supporters alike.

The video has sparked controversy, highlighting how the presence of Kennedy and other third-party contenders in the 2024 presidential election could potentially disrupt the outcome. While Palma's proposed strategy may have gained attention, it is important to note that it does not align with the campaign's official position.

It is worth mentioning that No Labels, an organization considering a third-party presidential ticket, had previously floated the idea of sending the election to the House but decided against it.

Palma, in the video, expresses her concerns about Biden's leadership and the influence of the people surrounding him. She coins her blue-state strategy as "Make Your Republican Vote Count," a concept she claims to have preached even before joining the Kennedy campaign. The video includes a visual presentation outlining her plan to block Biden's re-election by supporting Kennedy and helping Trump in states like Pennsylvania.

While the truncated version of the video has drawn criticism from Democrats, the Kennedy campaign is now investigating whether any misrepresentations were made. The campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox, reiterated their support for freedom of speech but emphasized that individuals should not claim to speak on behalf of the campaign without authorization.

Palma, who confirmed the authenticity of the video, has not yet offered further comment. The question of Palma's role within the campaign remains uncertain, with conflicting descriptions provided by both Palma and the campaign.

The story continues to develop as the controversial video gains traction on social media platforms, raising questions about the potential influence of third-party candidates in the upcoming presidential election.
