In a remarkable turn of events, Lukas McClish, a 34-year-old California man who had been reported missing for over a week, was found alive and well in the wilderness near Boulder Creek, Santa Cruz. McClish's family had reported him missing on June 11, and he was last seen wearing all-black clothing.

On Thursday afternoon, several witnesses reported hearing someone yelling for help near Foreman Creek, prompting a swift response from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office. Deputies and other officials arrived at the scene and confirmed that it was McClish who had been calling for assistance.

The search for McClish's exact location in the dense, remote canyon was aided by the use of drones. Once his whereabouts were pinpointed, state park rangers were the first to reach him, followed by fire crews who helped bring him to safety. Photos from the scene showed officials gathered around the heavily wooded area where McClish had been found.

Chief Mark Bingham of the Boulder Creek Fire Protection District described the challenging terrain, stating that there were no trails or roads nearby. The rescue team had to drive off-road for a quarter of a mile before continuing on foot to reach McClish. Despite his need for assistance to hike out of the woods, McClish did not sustain any major injuries.

Remarkably, McClish had survived in the wilderness for approximately 10 days, relying on drinking water from the creek and eating wild berries for sustenance. Chief Bingham praised his survival instincts, emphasizing his resourcefulness and resilience.

McClish has since been reunited with his family, bringing a happy end to a week-long ordeal. The Boulder Creek Volunteer Fire Department applauded his survival, noting the impressive feat of enduring challenging conditions and fending for himself in the wild.

As the details of his remarkable survival story emerge, Lukas McClish's resilience and determination continue to inspire those who hear of his incredible journey through the unforgiving wilderness of Santa Cruz.
