### Trump Taps Brooke Rollins for US Secretary of Agriculture Post

President-elect Donald Trump has named Brooke Rollins, the head of a policy institute focused on advancing his agenda, as his nominee for US secretary of agriculture. Trump praised Rollins' dedication to American farmers, food self-sufficiency efforts, and the revitalization of agricultural communities in the country, stating her commitment "is second to none."

Rollins currently serves as the president of the America First Policy Institute, an organization she established in 2021 with the goal of supporting Trump's potential return to the White House. The institute's activities include preparing comprehensive guides for new staff members and formulating policy recommendations derived from experiences during Trump's initial term.

Trump's selection of Rollins follows her significant contributions as a key aide during his first administration. Rollins was a member of Trump's 2016 Economic Advisory Council and held multiple roles within the administration, including Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Director of the Office of American Innovation, and Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives.

The announcement of Rollins' nomination comes after CNN had speculated that Kelly Loeffler, a former senator from Georgia and a notable donor, was expected to be Trump's pick for the agricultural post. However, Trump ultimately decided on Rollins, highlighting that no nomination is official until he formally announces it, a point underscored by the recent high-profile selection process for Treasury secretary.

The America First Policy Institute, chaired by Linda McMahon, who is also a seasoned Republican donor and previously led the Small Business Administration under Trump, has been instrumental in shaping policies for the incoming administration. McMahon herself was appointed earlier in the week to lead the Department of Education.

Rollins, a native of Texas, is set to bring her extensive experience and commitment to the new role, aiming to bolster the agricultural sector and support rural communities across the United States.
