### Explosion at Brazilian Supreme Court Blamed on Far-Right Attacks

A Brazilian Supreme Court justice has attributed a recent explosion outside the high court in Brasilia to the ongoing far-right attacks and hate speech targeting the nation's institutions. Speaking on Thursday, Justice Alexandre de Moraes condemned the abuse of free speech, stating that it has been criminally exploited to "offend, threaten, and coerce."

The incident, which took place on Wednesday, is being investigated as an act of terrorism and a violent assault on democratic rule, according to Federal Police Director Andrei Passos Rodrigues. At a news conference, Rodrigues elaborated that the suspect had attempted to enter the Supreme Court premises and appeared to act alone. However, he suggested that the act might be rooted in broader extremist ideologies.

"Even if the visible action is individual, behind that action there is never just one person. It's always a group, or ideas of a group, or extremism, radicalism, that lead to committing those crimes," Rodrigues explained. He emphasized that while the assailant acted alone, the investigation would seek to uncover any links to other groups or networks behind the attack.

Additionally, Rodrigues mentioned that the Supreme Court has recently received new threats via email, although he did not specify the timing of these threats.

Security footage released by the Supreme Court shows the suspect approaching a statue near the building. As a guard approaches, the man throws an explosive device and steps back. He then throws a second device, which detonates shortly after. Finally, the suspect ignites a third device near himself, resulting in his death.
