Brave 8-Year-Old Girl Drives Herself to Target, Found Safe by Police

According to a report from the Bedford Police, officers were dispatched to a residence on Greencroft Road around 9 a.m. after receiving reports of a missing child and a missing vehicle. Concerned family members had noticed the young girl's absence and alerted the authorities. Additional information emerged when the Bedford Heights Police reported receiving a call about a small child heading east on Rockside Road in a vehicle matching the description of the missing SUV. Despite their efforts, officers were unable to locate the girl or the car at that time. Fortunately, Flock cameras were able to track the SUV's movements, revealing it was traveling east on Pettibone Road.
Authorities received a glimmer of hope when the Bainbridge Police informed them that officers had located the vehicle at a Target store in Bainbridge. Acting promptly, officers rushed to the scene and successfully located the 8-year-old girl inside the store.
Relieved and overjoyed, the young girl was promptly reunited with her family. However, during the course of their investigation, officers discovered that the brave girl had encountered a minor mishap. According to a police release, she confessed to hitting a mailbox during her extraordinary journey.
