### Bill Maher Closes Out Season 22 with Sharp Jabs at Trump's Cabinet Picks
In the climactic finale of Season 22 of "Real Time With Bill Maher," the sharp-tongued host did not hold back in his criticism of Donald Trump's controversial cabinet selections. Bill Maher began the show with a hearty laugh, suggesting that the humor practically writes itself given the circumstances. Amid chuckles, he mused, "Do I really have to write jokes for this?"
Kicking off the last episode of an eventful year, Maher immediately took the audience back to Trump's infamous Access Hollywood tape. "The Republicans, man, when they take power, they grab it by the pussy. They don't f- around. They're not even in charge yet, they just won the election,” Maher noted with biting sarcasm. He quipped about the rapid changes in the House, sarcastically thanking fate for putting "adults back in charge."
Maher’s monologue ventured into even bolder territory when he commented on the appointment of a transgender person in the House, joking that Republicans would now ban her from using the restroom. In a particularly provocative jibe, he said, "Right away, Lindsey Graham volunteered to check for dicks," sparking laughter from the live audience.
The host then turned his attention to Trump's praise-filled appointment of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, mocking Lindsey Graham's hyperbolic sports metaphor. "Nothing says 'I'm straight' like overcompensating with a sports metaphor," Maher remarked, referring to Graham's over-the-top compliments labeling Bondi’s pick as a "grand slam, touchdown, hole in one, ace, hat trick, slam dunk, Olympic gold medal pick."
Reflecting on Matt Gaetz's withdrawal and the subsequent naming of Bondi, Maher humorously respected the Republicans for considering Gaetz too despicable even by their standards. His final zinger struck at the integrity of Trump's team, suggesting they might be the first cabinet required to stay 500 feet away from a school. "You know that useless sexual harassment seminar that we all have to do at work? We finally found an office that needs it," he concluded the monologue with a comedic punch.
Ending the season on a high note, Maher reminded the audience that "Real Time With Bill Maher" would continue through 2026, as previously announced by HBO. He also looked ahead to the new year, promising to return as host on January 17 and teasing his upcoming comedy special, "Is Anyone Else Seeing This?," set to air a week prior on HBO.
