### Biden-Harris Rift: Allegations of Tension and Lack of Coordination Emerge
In a recent interview, former President Donald Trump asserted that a significant rift exists between President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump voiced his belief that Biden harbors resentment towards Harris, attributing this to what he perceives as a political coup by the party rather than Harris herself. "He can't stand her for one simple reason, she overthrew him," Trump stated, adding, "But she didn't do it, the party did."
These sentiments echo broader concerns among some within Harris' camp. According to a report by Axios, certain aides argue that the White House staff deliberately refrains from coordinating Biden's messaging and schedule in a manner that would advantage Harris' 2024 campaign. An ally of Harris mentioned that Biden's team is "too much in their feelings," suggesting an emotional barrier to effective collaboration. Another individual involved in Harris' campaign expressed that the White House lacks a strategic focus on the campaign's impact.
Adding to the tension, Vice President Harris recently criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for not responding to her outreach concerning Hurricane Helene and Milton relief efforts, dismissing her attempts as "politically motivated." Moreover, Harris' team has blamed the White House for delays in staffing the campaign team essential for the upcoming election. A White House official, however, refuted these allegations, stating that transitioning staff from the administration to the campaign was always part of the plan.
President Biden faced intense pressure from within his party following a poor debate performance against Trump in June, leading to calls to end his reelection bid. After initially resisting these demands for about a month, Biden eventually announced on July 21 that he would step down from the campaign and endorsed Vice President Harris to take over the effort towards the 2024 election.
