**Biden Expresses Deep Concern Over Apparent Leak of U.S. Intelligence Docs on Israel’s Iran Plans**

President Joe Biden is seriously troubled by a suspected leak of classified United States intelligence documents detailing Israel's possible plans to attack Iran. This issue has come to light after the documents were posted on the social media network, Telegram, last week. According to White House spokesperson John Kirby, the origins of the leak remain uncertain, and it is unclear whether the documents were leaked or hacked.

Kirby emphasized the gravity of the situation, "The president remains deeply concerned about any leakage of classified information into the public domain. That is not supposed to happen and it's unacceptable when it does."

The classified files include an analysis of satellite images depicting Israeli military activities. These documents suggest that the Israeli military managed air-launched ballistic missiles and performed covert drone operations earlier this month, possibly preparing for a strike on Iran. Multiple U.S. media outlets have cited anonymous officials who believe the documents are authentic. The files were initially posted on a Telegram channel called Middle East Spectator, which tends to support Iran and its allies but denies any connection to Tehran's government.

An investigation is already underway to determine how these documents became public, confirmed U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson. He is set to receive a briefing on the matter. This incident follows other recent major leaks of secret government documents, including classified military intelligence assessments leaked online in 2023, reportedly by a U.S. National Guard airman.

Biden recently expressed hope that tensions between Iran and Israel could be contained, stating that there is an "opportunity" to halt the ongoing hostilities between the two countries. He acknowledged being aware of Israel's plans and timing concerning a potential response to Iran but chose not to provide specific details.

Iran had previously launched missiles at Israeli military targets on October 1, in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran and the assassinations of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and an Iranian general in Beirut. Biden suggested that he opposes Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear or oil facilities.

The president's comments about understanding Israel's potential response have incited anger in Iran, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating on social media that anyone with such knowledge or support for an Israeli attack should be held accountable for any resultant casualties. Moreover, a source cited by Iran's Tasnim news agency declared that Iran's response to any Israeli assault would be "decisive" and "beyond the estimates of Zionists."

In related developments, the Biden administration has recently expanded sanctions on Iran's oil and petrochemical sectors following Iran’s missile attacks against Israel.
