The record-breaking haul was largely due to a successful fundraiser in New York City and a consistent flow of grassroots donations. With this latest achievement, the campaign's total fundraising for the first quarter of 2024 reached an impressive $187 million.

Notably, the Biden campaign now holds a massive $192 million in cash on hand, a milestone that sets a new record for any Democratic candidate at this stage of the election cycle. The campaign has received contributions from over 1.6 million individuals, reflecting a strong and diverse base of supporters.

Comparatively, former President Trump's campaign raised approximately $66 million during the same period, falling short of Biden's remarkable achievement. The Trump campaign, in conjunction with the Republican National Committee, closed March with $93.1 million in cash on hand.

Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez expressed pride in the campaign's achievements, emphasizing the funds' utilization in building a winning operation aimed at engaging crucial voter demographics. She contrasted this approach with the Trump campaign's alleged reliance on limited funds and assistance from billionaires to cover mounting legal expenses.

March proved to be a standout month for the Biden campaign, as it broke its own record for small-dollar donations for the fifth consecutive month. Notably, a single event attended by President Biden alongside former Presidents Obama and Clinton in New York City raised an incredible $26 million. Additionally, the campaign raised $10 million during the 24 hours surrounding the State of the Union address in early March.

The significant financial advantage provides the Biden campaign with the means to establish over 100 field offices nationwide and launch a targeted $30 million advertising campaign in key battleground states. This level of investment highlights the strategic focus on engaging voters directly.

Meanwhile, former President Trump is set to attend a major fundraiser in Florida, with expectations of raising over $33 million. The event will be hosted by hedge fund founder John Paulson. Additional fundraising events are scheduled, including one in Pennsylvania on April 13, just two days before Trump's hush money trial is set to commence in New York.

As the campaign heads into the second quarter with a strong financial footing, the Biden team looks poised to maintain an aggressive and well-funded strategy in the race for the presidency.
