In an effort to win over Nikki Haley supporters, the Biden campaign held a previously unreported Zoom meeting on Wednesday night, shortly after Haley announced her plan to vote for Donald Trump. A Biden campaign representative listened to the concerns of top Haley supporters from various states, signaling the campaign's awareness of the significant number of Haley voters.

The meeting, organized as part of Bidenworld's ongoing outreach, was described as highly encouraging by Robert Schwartz, founder of the Haley Voters For Biden PAC. Schwartz likened the session to other listening sessions the Biden campaign has conducted, such as those with the pro-Palestinian uncommitted vote. The Biden campaign has been actively targeting Haley voters since the end of the GOP primary, prioritizing issues around Trump's attacks on democracy and the restoration of decency to the office.

The Biden campaign has been refining its definition of a persuadable Haley voter over the past few months, leveraging paid media, analyzing Haley's margins in key battleground precincts, and actively listening to their concerns. It is worth noting that Haley emphasized the importance of Trump's campaign courting her supporters, something that has been largely ignored since the primary ended.

Despite Haley's characterization of Biden's term as "catastrophic," Schwartz remains optimistic that many of her supporters will ultimately shift their allegiance to Biden. He highlighted the diverse coalition of voters that Haley possesses, which includes individuals from the center-left, center, and conservatives. While acknowledging his respectful disagreement with her decision to support Trump, Schwartz also disagreed with her portrayal of Biden's presidency.

For Schwartz, the continued outreach efforts by the Biden campaign are highly encouraging. He described the impromptu Zoom meeting as "a big deal," emphasizing that it shows the campaign's genuine commitment to engaging with Haley voters. This move signifies a departure from relying solely on digital ads and traditional media to reach out to this key voting bloc.

As the campaign intensifies, Schwartz stressed the importance of the Biden campaign making a serious and genuine effort to listen to what Haley voters are looking for and prioritize their policy concerns. The Zoom meeting may not be groundbreaking in itself, but it represents a critical step for the Biden campaign in gaining an edge with this influential voting bloc.

The Biden campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the meeting. However, this latest effort demonstrates their dedication to expanding their support base and courting key conservative voters like Nikki Haley's supporters.
