President Joe Biden addressed the growing tensions during a speech on Wednesday, highlighting the United States' unwavering commitment to ensuring Israel's security. He stated, "As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel's security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is iron-clad. We're gonna do all we can to protect Israel's security."

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, echoed the sentiment that Israel should be held accountable for the attack in Damascus. In a post on Twitter, Khamenei emphasized the need for punishment, stating, "When the Zionist regime attacks an Iranian consulate in Syria, it is as if it has attacked Iranian soil. That malicious regime has made a wrong move. It should be punished, and it will be punished."

In response to Khamenei's remarks, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Katz, issued a strong warning. He tweeted directly at Khamenei, cautioning that if Iran launches an attack on Israel, Israel will respond in kind. Katz firmly stated, "If Iran attacks from its territory, Israel will react and attack in Iran."
