### In-Flight Altercation Forces Auburn Basketball Team's Plane to Return to Airport
A tumultuous flight involving Auburn University’s basketball team occurred Friday night, prompting their plane to return to the airport shortly after departure. According to On3, the incident involved players Howard and Hudson.
Audio from Air Traffic Control, accessed by WBRC, revealed a concerning situation. A pilot reported that "a bunch of basketball players" were engaged in a physical fight. He confirmed, "flight deck is secure, the threat level is contained," but added, "we'll have police on the ground, we had 2 players that got into a physical altercation, clothes were ripped."
The Auburn team resumed their journey after the disturbance. An Auburn spokesperson confirmed to AL.com at 9:46 p.m. Friday that the team had re-departed for Houston.
Both Howard and Hudson participated in Auburn's season-opening victory over Vermont, contributing seven and two points respectively. Auburn’s next game is set against Houston with an 8:30 p.m. tip-off on Saturday night.
