These claims come after Combs' recent arrest on September 16, following his indictment by a federal grand jury in New York on charges of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. The allegations against him date back as far as 2008, though Combs has entered a plea of not guilty.
In an Instagram post, Buzbee described the plaintiffs as "brave individuals" comprising both men and women, many of whom were minors at the time the alleged abuse occurred. The attorney emphasized the emotional toll these incidents have taken on the victims, describing their stories as "gut-wrenching and heartbreaking."
The lawsuit details various locations where the alleged misconduct took place, including hotels, private residences, and Combs' infamous "Freak Off" parties. Buzbee portrayed these acts as a display of "debauchery and depravity" by influential individuals against vulnerable minors and adults. He indicated that he anticipates the number of plaintiffs will increase as the case develops, and suggested that more individuals might be implicated as well.
A public statement from Buzbee hinted that some of the alleged victims are expected to share their experiences publicly in the coming week. He expressed pride in representing the claimants and a determination to seek justice on their behalf.
"We pray for justice for these brave souls," Buzbee concluded in his statement.
The Associated Press also contributed to the details in this announcement.
