**Arnold Schwarzenegger Endorses Kamala Harris, Criticizes Trump in Lengthy Post**
Arnold Schwarzenegger, renowned actor, former bodybuilder, and ex-governor of California, publicly supported Vice President Kamala Harris's presidential run on Wednesday. The endorsement was made through a detailed social media post that also included sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump.
In his message on X, formerly known as Twitter, Schwarzenegger, a Republican, expressed his disillusionment with the current state of politics. He emphasized that rejecting election results is inherently "un-American" and could not remain silent about it. “A candidate who won't respect your vote unless it is for him, a candidate who will send his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke, a candidate who has shown no ability to work to pass any policy besides a tax cut that helped his donors and other rich people like me but helped no one else, a candidate who thinks Americans who disagree with him are the bigger enemies than China, Russia, or North Korea—that won't solve our problems," he articulated in his post.
Schwarzenegger warned that electing Trump would result in another term marked by ineffectiveness, escalating anger, division, and hatred. He criticized his fellow Republicans for abandoning free market principles, exacerbating deficits, and joining Trump in rejecting election results. He also addressed concerns over Democratic policies, suggesting that they could lead to rising crime rates.
While making his statement, Schwarzenegger called for active participation in voting. In previous elections, he had voiced his opposition to Trump without endorsing his opponents. After the January 6 Capitol riot, Schwarzenegger had also conveyed his disapproval of Trump through a video message that urged national unity. His tenure as governor of California spanned from 2003 to 2011, following a successful recall election against then-Gov. Gray Davis.
