In a terrifying incident on Saturday night, an individual was apprehended by authorities after allegedly unleashing a barrage of gunfire from the top of an apartment building in Marina del Rey. The incident, which occurred along the 4100 block of Via Marina, resulted in a large-scale emergency response, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, numerous residents in the affluent seaside neighborhood called 911 after 10 p.m. to report the continuous sound of gunfire. Responding swiftly to the distress calls, law enforcement officers were able to arrest the suspect, whose identity is yet to be disclosed. The shooter's livestream of the incident was reportedly shared online, but it appears to have been removed from the internet. Witnesses informed City News Service that the man involved works as a chef, shedding some light on his occupation.

A news release from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department revealed that a male suspect was spotted on the rooftop of an apartment complex, engaging in a high-volume exchange of gunfire using a rifle. In response, armored SWAT-style vehicles were deployed to the scene to ensure the safety of residents. Streets in the Via Marina area were shut down during the operation, causing temporary disruption.

Authorities have not provided any further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident or the potential motive behind the suspect's actions.
