### Armed Man Arrested Near Trump Rally in Coachella Valley: Possible Assassination Attempt
Authorities apprehended an armed individual near Donald Trump's rally in Coachella Valley on Saturday, a situation the local sheriff suggested might have been a planned assassination attempt on the former president. The suspect was located approximately a mile from the rally site, possessing a fake entry pass, and carrying a loaded shotgun, handgun, and a high-capacity magazine, police report.
Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco commented on the arrest, stating, "We probably stopped another assassination attempt." The man, identified as Vem Miller, was detained by police at a checkpoint around half a mile from the rally entrance. Miller was found in possession of counterfeit press and VIP passes, which were distinct enough to raise suspicions among the deputies, Bianco informed the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
Sheriff Bianco revealed that Miller is thought to be a member of a right-wing anti-government group and had intentions to assassinate Trump. Following his arrest, Miller was charged with possession of a loaded firearm and a high-capacity magazine. According to police records, he was subsequently released after posting a $5,000 bail.
