In a day of unrest in Manhattan, anti-Israel protesters were seen waving the yellow-and-green banner of Hezbollah, a Lebanon-based terrorist organization backed by Iran. Videos taken during the downtown protest documented the display of the flag emblazoned with an assault rifle and the words: "The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon."

Conservative activist Laura Loomer confronted the protester, expressing outrage and denouncing the support for a group associated with terrorism. Loomer, accompanied by an aide and wearing a pro-Trump t-shirt, engaged in a heated exchange with the demonstrators. Several female activists targeted Loomer, making derogatory remarks about her appearance and telling her to "kill herself."

The tension escalated as a man with a keffiyeh scarf wrapped around his head and holding a defaced Israeli flag fired back at Loomer, stating that "Israel is a pariah state." Amidst the chaos, a woman in the crowd exclaimed, "We love Hezbollah!" while another protester chanted that "America is a terrorist state!"

Hezbollah, founded in 1982 in response to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon, has been involved in numerous attacks, including the bombings of the US Embassy and the US Marine barracks in Beirut. These attacks resulted in the deaths of 241 American service members, mainly Marines. The organization is considered a terrorist group by the United States and is backed by Iran.

The unrest witnessed in Manhattan was mirrored in other major cities across the country as part of a collective effort to disrupt economic activity and influence the Biden administration's stance on providing military support to Israel. The recent escalation of anti-Israel protests follows Iran's air assault on Israel in support of Palestinian Hamas terrorists, who are considered proxies of Iran, much like Hezbollah and the Yemeni Houthis.

During the protests, an American flag held by a counterprotester was set on fire, prompting police intervention to extinguish the flames. The mob subsequently caused disruption on the Brooklyn Bridge, halting Manhattan-bound traffic. They continued on foot to Barclay's Center, Borough Hall, and City Point Mall, where they engaged in further acts of unrest and burned another American flag while chanting "Shut it down!"

The New York Police Department responded to the unrest with a significant presence, detaining 48 people over the course of the day. Four suspects were arrested on charges including assault, resisting arrest, obstructing a government administration, and disorderly conduct. The remaining individuals received criminal court summons before being released.

The incidents in Manhattan sparked outrage on social media, with individuals expressing concern over the display of the Hezbollah flag and the chants of "Death to America." Republican Representative Nicole Malliotakis criticized the events, linking them to Joe Biden's America. Shai Davidai, an assistant professor at Columbia Business School, described the incidents as domestic terrorism and expressed shock at the scenes unfolding in New York City.

The NYPD Deputy Commissioner Kaz Daughtry condemned the protests, emphasizing that the NYPD has zero tolerance for such mayhem. He denounced the disruption caused to critical infrastructure and the evening rush hour commute, stating that it was completely unacceptable.

The events in Manhattan serve as a vivid reminder of the ongoing tensions surrounding the Israel-Palestine conflict and the strong emotions it evokes among opposing groups in the United States.
