In a hard-fought primary race, Abe Hamadeh emerged as the Republican nominee for the House seat representing Arizona's 8th Congressional District. Decision Desk HQ confirmed his victory after a fierce competition against notable contenders, including former Arizona GOP Senate nominee Blake Masters. This win positions Hamadeh as the frontrunner to succeed retiring Rep. Debbie Lesko, who decided not to seek reelection after her tenure since 2018.

The primary race showcased a crowded field, featuring prominent figures such as Arizona state House Speaker Ben Toma and former Rep. Trent Franks, who had held the district's seat before his resignation in 2017. Franks stepped down following an investigation initiated by the House Ethics Committee, probing allegations that he had approached staffers regarding surrogacy arrangements for him and his wife.

The primary contest predominantly boiled down to a fierce battle between Hamadeh and Masters, marked by moments of intense campaigning and personal attacks launched by both sides. In May, Masters targeted Hamadeh for being unmarried and childless, claiming that he lacked personal investment. Masters also attempted to link Hamadeh, the son of Syrian immigrants, to illegal immigration, asserting that his presence in the country was owed to it. In response, Hamadeh countered by denouncing Masters as a "snake" and highlighting his own military background as a former U.S. Army reserve captain and intelligence officer.

Both candidates made it a point to emphasize their close ties to former President Donald Trump's administration, with Trump initially endorsing Hamadeh but eventually engaging in a co-endorsement of both Hamadeh and Masters over the weekend. Hamadeh garnered an array of high-profile endorsements from notable Republicans, both within and outside Arizona. Endorsements included Arizona GOP Senate candidate Kari Lake, former state party Chair Kelli Ward, former National Security Adviser Robert C. O'Brien, and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.).

Hamadeh, who narrowly lost the Republican nomination for attorney general of Arizona in 2022 by fewer than 300 votes to Democrat Kris Mayes, now sets his sights on the solidly red 8th District's House seat. With a plethora of endorsements and the backing of former President Trump, Hamadeh is poised as the favorite to claim victory in the upcoming general election.

The battle for Arizona's 8th Congressional District is one to watch closely, as Hamadeh's triumph shapes the political landscape in an area known for its staunch conservative backing.
