In a shocking incident, a woman deliberately rammed her car into what she believed to be a Jewish school in Indianapolis, citing her anger towards the Israel-Hamas conflict. The Indianapolis police responded to the crash late on Friday evening, with the suspect, Ruba Almaghtheh, openly admitting her intentions to officers at the scene.
According to the police report, Almaghtheh, a 34-year-old woman, claimed to have been overwhelmed by the news regarding the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, stating that she "couldn't breathe anymore" and expressing her sympathy for the Palestinian people. The suspect had allegedly observed the building, known as the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge, multiple times, labeling it the "Israel school" before deliberately causing the crash.
Fortunately, despite the presence of individuals within the building at the time, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. However, an unexpected twist emerged as investigations unfolded. The Anti-Defamation League, an organization dedicated to combating anti-Semitism, revealed that the Israelite School of Universal and Practical Knowledge is not, in fact, a Jewish school, but rather an extremist organization with anti-Israel and anti-Semitic beliefs.
Indianapolis police promptly arrested Almaghtheh, charging her with criminal recklessness in connection with the intentional crash. Additionally, authorities have informed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about the incident. The FBI has confirmed their awareness of the situation and stated that they are collaborating with the local law enforcement to address the matter.
The unfortunate incident highlights the lengths to which some individuals may go in expressing their frustrations. Indianapolis authorities, along with the FBI, are now focusing on thoroughly investigating the incident to determine the motive behind Almaghtheh's actions. The safety and security of all religious and educational institutions remain a top priority, particularly in times of heightened tensions and conflicts.
