In a disappointing turn for snow enthusiasts in North Jersey, the ongoing winter storm that descended upon the region on Friday seems to be showing a clear preference for the southern half of the state. Preliminary snowfall reports have confirmed the concentration of heavier snow bands in interior sections of South Jersey, while lighter bands make their way across northern and central counties.

The National Weather Service and the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) have already received reports indicating significant snowfall in various towns. As of 3:30 p.m. Friday, several towns in Atlantic, Burlington, and Gloucester counties have measured an impressive 5 inches of snow. Additionally, other towns in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Mercer have reached the 4-inch mark.

These reports, which align with what has been observed on weather radar over the past few hours, highlight the stark difference in snow accumulation between the northern and southern regions of the state.

While snowfall totals are steadily being updated throughout the day and into the night, as more counties and towns report their respective measurements, no new snow totals were available as of 2:15 p.m.
