Authorities have taken action against Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia, seizing 95 animals and launching an investigation into allegations of animal cruelty. The privately-owned zoo, located in the town of Natural Bridge in Rockbridge County, has come under scrutiny after animals were found living in deplorable conditions.

According to a search warrant published by local CBS affiliate WDBJ-TV in Roanoke, authorities discovered the zoo's animals in habitats described as "filthy" and lacking sufficient food and water. The disturbing findings prompted the investigation into the zoo's owners and their alleged mistreatment of the animals.

Among the animals seized from the zoo were capuchins, lemurs, parrots, gibbons, tortoises, llamas, and a donkey. Tragically, the list of animals also included several deceased creatures, including a euthanized white Bengal tiger, five cranes, seven servals, an alligator, a llama, a mandrill, and a Burmese python.

In a shocking twist, the search carried out by authorities revealed the presence of animal body parts. Zebra legs and a pelt, a giraffe head, three legs, and two tails were among the disturbing discoveries. Additionally, five bags containing frozen giraffe feces were uncovered, along with a "giraffe cape (skin)", a mandrill head, a bongo pelt, and various specimen jars labeled "ASHA."

As the investigation unfolds, the owners of Natural Bridge Zoo have yet to comment on the allegations. However, their attorney, Mario Williams, indicated that they intend to contest the charges. Williams expressed skepticism, demanding proof of neglect and dismissing the accusations as baseless.

Authorities are now working diligently to gather evidence and build a case against the zoo's owners. Meanwhile, animal rights activists and concerned citizens are deeply disturbed by the allegations of animal cruelty and eagerly await justice for the mistreated creatures.
