Former President Donald Trump has made it clear that his former presidential primary rival, Nikki Haley, is unlikely to be chosen as his running mate for the vice-president position. Trump expressed his doubts about Haley's presidential capabilities during a rally in Concord, New Hampshire.

At the rally, Trump acknowledged Haley's appointment as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations during his time in the White House but stated that she was not "presidential timber." He elaborated on his opinion, asserting that Haley lacked the toughness, intelligence, and respect necessary to handle difficult negotiations with leaders of rival countries.

While remaining cryptic about his remarks, Trump suggested that making such a public statement effectively eliminated Haley from consideration as a potential vice-president. He playfully remarked that he couldn't announce her as his pick immediately after evaluating her character in such a manner.

Meanwhile, Haley, campaigning in Amherst, expressed her disinterest in being anyone's vice-president, vehemently stating that it was "off the table." She emphasized that she had always maintained this stance and was not willing to participate in the political game surrounding vice-presidential selections.

Haley, trailing significantly behind Trump in recent polls leading up to the New Hampshire primary, has been taking opportunities to criticize the GOP frontrunner. She pointed out the low turnout in the Iowa caucuses, where Trump emerged as the winner, despite a state with a population of merely three million and a meager voter turnout. Haley also accused Trump of lying about her record and criticized his past support for initiatives such as increasing the federal gas tax and raising the retirement age.

As the primary race intensifies and the New Hampshire primary approaches, it remains to be seen how Haley's criticisms of Trump and her aversion to the vice-president position will impact her campaign. For now, Trump's statements have made it clear that Haley is not under consideration as his potential running mate.
