In an update from the FOX19 NOW Weather Team, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have been designated as First Alert Weather Days for the tri-state area, as snow and subzero wind chills are expected to impact the region.

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire Tri-State, starting from 5 p.m. Thursday and continuing until 1 a.m. Saturday. The advisory alerts residents to expect steady, widespread snowfall, which will begin late Thursday night and persist throughout the morning commute on Friday. Accumulations are forecasted to range from 1 to 3 inches, with higher amounts possible in the northern and eastern parts of the viewing area.

Although the total snowfall may not be significant, the timing of the snowfall is expected to cause disruptions, particularly during the morning commute on Friday. Road conditions will likely deteriorate, leading to travel delays. The Ohio Department of Transportation has warned that the snowfall could result in a "sloppy, messy" morning commute.

In addition to the snow, strong winds with gusts up to 35 miles per hour are expected on Friday, creating brief reductions in visibility and the potential for blowing snow. This could further contribute to slick spots on treated roads. Motorists are urged to exercise caution and be prepared for challenging driving conditions throughout the day on Friday and Saturday morning.

Temperatures will plummet, with Friday's high struggling to reach 20 degrees. As the weekend approaches, Saturday and Sunday have also been designated as First Alert Weather Days. During this period, arctic cold temperatures are anticipated, with morning lows in the single digits and afternoon highs in the teens and 20s. Wind chill values are expected to reach near or below zero on both mornings.

Saturday is forecasted to have decreasing morning clouds, while Sunday will see sunny skies. Warmer air is anticipated to return to the Tri-State next week, bringing relief from the frigid conditions.

Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information, use caution while traveling, and prepare for the cold temperatures and potential snowfall in the coming days.
