Fatal Multivehicle Crash in Dracut Leaves One Dead and Eight Injured

In a tragic incident, a multivehicle crash occurred in Dracut, Massachusetts, resulting in the death of one person and leaving eight others injured. According to authorities, the crash took place around 9 p.m. on Saturday on Merrimack Avenue, which forms a part of Route 110.

Upon arrival, first responders were confronted with the aftermath of a collision involving four vehicles. Numerous occupants from these vehicles sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. Dracut Police Chief Peter Bartlett and Dracut Fire Chief Richard Patterson confirmed that one individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining eight injured individuals were treated and transported to nearby hospitals.

Due to the severity of the incident, Merrimack Avenue had to be closed for several hours as emergency personnel worked tirelessly to attend to the victims and clear the wreckage.

The Dracut Police Department, in collaboration with the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, is conducting a thorough investigation into the crash. Their aim is to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding this tragic event.

As details of the crash emerge, the community mourns the loss of a life and hopes for the full recovery of those injured in the accident.
