In a devastating terrorist attack in Raanana, Israel, a 70-year-old woman has lost her life while 17 other individuals sustained injuries. The incident occurred approximately 20km north of Tel Aviv and involved two Palestinians from the occupied West Bank. Authorities have reported that the suspects carried out the attack by constantly switching between three stolen vehicles and deliberately targeting pedestrians at different locations.

According to Israeli media reports, the suspects stabbed the woman before taking her car and using it to run over innocent bystanders. The attackers later lost control of the stolen vehicle and proceeded to steal another car, continuing their rampage. An eyewitness interviewed by Haaretz newspaper recounted seeing one of the attackers stab three people near a mall, steal a car, and then intentionally run over additional individuals.

Details regarding the suspects' arrest and how they were stopped are still unclear. Authorities have revealed that both individuals came from the West Bank city of Hebron and had entered Israel illegally. This incident comes as Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas mark the 100-day milestone of their ongoing war in Gaza.

Since the start of the conflict on October 7th, there have been few reports of attacks in Israel. Nevertheless, Monday's terrifying incident is expected to amplify the anxiety felt among Israelis. The nation remains in shock following the incursions made by Hamas gunmen from Gaza, resulting in the deaths of over 1,300 people, primarily civilians, and the hostage-taking of approximately 240 others over the past 101 days.

Tensions in the West Bank have also escalated ever since the war began in Gaza. According to local health officials, Israeli forces have killed more than 350 Palestinians through targeted raids on militants and acts of settler-related violence. In response to these incidents, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have stated that their forces were attacked with petrol bombs and rocks, which prompted a response involving the use of riot dispersal methods and live fire. The IDF reported that one assailant who threw a Molotov cocktail at the forces was killed, with additional hits being identified.

Hamas, the Palestinian group responsible for the ongoing conflict, praised the attack in Raanana as a "natural response" to the occupation's actions and continued aggression against the Palestinian people. The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza has declared that the Israeli bombardment has resulted in the death of 24,100 people, mainly women and children, along with approximately 61,000 injuries. Israel, on the other hand, maintains that 9,000 of those killed in Gaza were Hamas combatants and remains determined to dismantle the group and free the remaining hostages.

As the conflict persists, the extent of the destruction in the Gaza Strip after 100 days of war becomes increasingly evident. Drone shots captured in Gaza showcase the devastating impact on the enclave. The vessel involved in the recent incident, Gibraltar Eagle, reported no injuries or significant damage according to the US military.

This tragic event serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing violence and tensions that persist in the region, as both sides grapple with the aftermath of these devastating attacks.
