Southern California is bracing for a significant weather change as an offshore Pacific storm is set to bring steady rain and cooler temperatures to the region. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a forecast for a "100 percent chance" of rain beginning on Wednesday, November 15th, and lasting through most of Saturday.

According to NWS, the Southland can expect to receive anywhere from one to three inches of rain during this period, potentially leading to localized flooding in certain areas. In addition to the heavy rainfall, strong southerly winds are expected to generate high surf along the coastline.

KTLA 5 meteorologist Kacey Montoya explains that the storm system will begin to move off the coast of San Francisco by Monday, resulting in cooler temperatures and increased cloud cover across Southern California. "This storm system kind of just parks itself off the coast," Montoya said. "This will continue to bring us showers through Saturday."

While a brief respite from the rain is anticipated on Thursday, showers are expected to return to the region by Friday morning and persist into Saturday before finally tapering off on Sunday.

The NWS warns residents to stay vigilant during this period of inclement weather, being mindful of potential flooding, hazardous road conditions, and the possibility of falling debris. They advise individuals to take necessary precautions and stay updated on the latest weather updates from reliable sources.

With the impending storm, local authorities have been preparing to deal with any potential consequences. Efforts will focus on ensuring storm drains are clear, distributing sandbags in particularly flood-prone areas, and coordinating emergency response teams.

As Southern California braces for the heavy rainfall, residents are urged to stay informed about any local advisories or evacuation orders that may be issued. It is essential to exercise caution and plan accordingly to ensure the safety of both individuals and property during this period of inclement weather.
