Shooting at Union Station After Chiefs Parade Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured

In a tragic turn of events, a shooting occurred on Wednesday afternoon just after the conclusion of the Chiefs parade and rally at Union Station in Kansas City. The incident resulted in one fatality and left at least 18 individuals wounded, including several children.
Children's Mercy Hospital confirmed that they received a total of 12 patients, with 11 of them being children. Shockingly, nine of these patients sustained gunshot wounds. Meanwhile, University Health Truman Medical Center reported treating eight gunshot victims, two of whom are currently in critical condition. Additionally, four individuals with non-gunshot injuries received medical attention.
Following the incident, the Kansas City Police Department took two armed individuals into custody for further investigation. Police Chief Stacey Graves expressed her anger at the situation, stating that those attending the celebration should have been able to expect a safe environment.
St. Luke's Hospital of Kansas City also reported receiving one critical gunshot patient, along with three patients who walked into the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
In order to prioritize the treatment of the shooting victims, officers urged people to vacate the area and avoid the parking garage. They also requested that any witnesses to the shooting come forward and provide their testimony at the southwest corner of Pershing and Main.
